Post No. 1: Scientist-B (Medical) (Unreserved): Essential Qualification: MBBS degree recognized by MCI.
Desirable:
i. MD in Community Medicine/Social & Preventive Medicine/
Microbiology/ Pathology.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects in
recognized institute(s).
iii. Two years R&D/ Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
Job Requirements:
Planning and execution of research programmes that include both field
and laboratory components, related to vector borne diseases. The candidate is required to carry out clinic and hospital based studies. He/She
will be involved in extensive field work in evaluation of Public Health
programmes and epidemic investigations anywhere in India. Any other
relative research on vector control and vector borne diseases.
Post No. 2 : Scientist-B (Non-medical) (Unreserved): Essential Qualification : 1st Class M. Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health
Entomology from a recognized University. Or
2nd Class M. Sc degree in Zoology/ Medical Entomology/ Public Health
Entomology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized
University.
Desirable: i. Doctorate in Zoology/Public Health Entomology/Medical Entomology
from a recognized University.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s).
iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Biostatistics/Data
Management.
Job Requirements:
Planning and execution of research programmes that include both field
and laboratory components, related to vector borne diseases and their
control in different eco-epidemiological settings, focusing on vector
control through integrated vector management approach, and evaluation of vector control tools. Any other relative research on vector control and vector borne diseases.
Post No. 3 : Scientist-B (Non-medical) (Reserved for OBC) (Anticipated
vacancy): Essential Qualification: 1st Class Master's degree in Microbiology from a recognized University.
Or
2nd Class Master's degree in Microbiology + Ph.D in the relevant subject from a recognized University.
Desirable: i. Doctorate in Microbiology from a recognized university.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in subjects related
to vector borne diseases and their control in recognized institute(s).

borne human diseases that include development of microbial vector
control tools & translation of the tools for operational programme.
Teaching and training of post graduate students and other trainees.
Development and application of microbiology based diagnostics for
vector borne diseases. Any other relative research on vector control
and vector borne diseases.

Age limit : Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation to Govt. servant Candidates
and OBC candidates (only for the post reserved of OBC) in accordance
with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and
Training from time to time in this regard.
One time relaxation is allowed to Scientific and Technical Staff working
in long term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres for posts advertised
under HRSC, 2007 provided they meet essential qualifications and
experience for the post with a view to provide them an opportunity to
compete with other candidates as per Council's letter No.6/1/2007-
Admn.ll dated 28.03.2011.
Other Service Conditions:
(i) Allowances - As admissible to Government Employees
(ii) NPA - Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing
allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
(iii) Pension - Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension
system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of
Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division)
Notification No. 05/07/2003-ECB & PR dated 22-12-2003, effective
from 01-01-2004.
Application Fee: Rs. 500/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 100/-
for SC & ST in the form of crossed demand draft of any Bank drawn in
favour of Director, Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry
payable at Puducherry. Candidates belonging to PwD category are
exempted from payment of application fee.

of application will be considered subject to the condition that a "No
Objection Certificate" from the employer is produced at the time of personal discussion. Application received after the closing date will not be
considered.
(4) Self attested copies of the following documents are to be enclosed with
the application:
a) Proof of Date of Birth
b) Educational qualification
c) Experience
d) Community certificate
e) List of publications in indexed/non-indexed journal with impact factor for each publication. (5) Unsigned/incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for or applications without application fee and applications
received after the prescribed closing date are liable to be summarily
rejected.

years experience.
(2) Since it is not possible to call all the applicants for the written test/interview, the candidates will be short-listed for this purpose. The decision

(3) No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the written test.
(4) The candidates called for interview from outstation will be paid 2nd
class rail fare through shortest route.
(5) The candidates should be of sound health, selected candidates will
have to produce a fitness certificates from Medical Board.
(6) Any dispute with regard to the recruitment against this advertisement
will be under the jurisdiction of Puducherry.
